The only move you need to know now.
Man, I miss the arcade. Actually seeing your opponent before you pound his virtual fighter into the ground. Of course it sucks to get destroyed in front of a bunch of people…but this is what it was all about. If you are playing with good people most of the time you will get a “Good Game” back when you won or lost…you respected your opponent.
Xbox Live ruined this. Now you don’t even see the person you are fighting against…you just hear them yell obscenities in your ear as they spam fireballs the entire match. Then when you tell them that they are being cheap they start calling you racial slurs. If this happened back in the arcade days these types of players would get a physical beatdown. Literally, they would be asked to leave the arcade and then some dudes would follow them outside and beat the shit out of them for talking smack and cheesing.
The sad thing is that this has become the majority of matches I play on Xbox now. Either some kid plays as Sagat or Ryu and spams fireballs the whole match. Or they play as Guile and sonic boom the entire time and then flare kick when you get close. Makoto cheesers who just throw daggers at a distance the whole match. Its really not a strategy…its just being cheap and lame. People who say, “Oh if you were really good you could find a way to beat them”, is right. If I wanted to switch over to say Chun Li and just do aerials all match I could…but then I would be just as cheap as these other assholes. The point I’m trying to make is that there is no honor in fighting games anymore. The anonymity that Xbox Live provides allows these kids to act like complete assholes. This isn’t just limited to SF4. I can’t play COD anymore because of the assholes who use glitches and people who just camp the entire match or sprint around knifing people because they can’t do anything else.
These types of people make playing these games NOT FUN. It affects the entire community and ruins any enjoyment that an honorable gamer will have. Sad thing is that these young kids see their friends acting this way and they assume that its totally fine to be screaming swears at your opponent while they play the cheapest way possible.
Unfortunately I don’t know any way to really fight this. At least SF2 Alpha had the cheese icon when you spammed the opponent to death which would basically let you know that you are a no talent loser. However, I don’t even think that people would care if they got that anymore. With Battle Points and Player Points its all about winning at any cost just to see your points go up. In the arcade it was about winning with honor and taking pride in your fighting style. Making friends, knocking out cheap cheesers, and having fun. Now its just comes down to who can throw a fireball faster while calling you the N-word.

Gifted Unlimited Rhymes Universal
Its real sad for me to say that one of the most prolific MCs of all time has passed away last night from cancer. Guru was a an amazing pioneer of hip hop. His wordplay and flow is something that blew people away. Even with that classic monotone voice he delivered some of the best rhymes I have ever heard. On top of this he stayed away from all the gimicks…gold chains, girls, guns, money…or auto-tune. It was all just real hip hop. I learned alot of lessons in my many trips with Gang Starr. You got to be smart, you got to control your emotions, and you got to know what she wants. RIP Guru.
“So like they say, every dog has its day
And like they say, God works in a mysterious way
So I pray, remembering the days of my youth
As I prepare to meet my moment of truth” – Guru

I will say that i’m sad to see 24 end. It was my go to show for a long time. Sure it fell off towards the end and got a little repetitive, but nobody can deny Jack Bauer. The guy has seen it all…his wife murdered, partner betraying him, years of torture in a Chinese prison. I get mad if my train is late.
One of the best parts of 24 was that everyone, including the President would refer to Jack like he was a branch of government.
“Mr. President, we have a joint operation with the FBI, CTU and Jack Bauer.”
Jack, you will be missed. I hope you go out in glory, and not in a Chinese prison.

One of my favorite producers, Nujabes, has died in a car accident in Japan. Nujabes really was the man who turned me onto Japanese production and hip hop. His beats were very universal and many of my friends who I have played Nujabes for have nothing but love for his music. Luv Sic was one of the first tracks of his that I have heard and it still is one song I can’t skip when i’m listening to my Zune. RIP Jun, you will be missed.
